Welcome to the Chamberson. A beautifully renovated, heritage-listed former warehouse, in the heart of Dunedin. The contemporary interior makes the most of the original features, with spacious, light-filled, apartment style rooms. The large windows offer a range of views across the city. We’re as central as you can be, located between the railway station and the Octagon. A short stroll to the city’s cafés, restaurants and bars, and within easy walking distance of many of our most popular attractions. The main shopping street is also just a few minutes away, on foot.

SELF CHECK IN Self check in is operating for all rooms/apartments - we will send you the self check in information and an access codes the day before arrival. Please ensure the contact details (either email or mobile number) you have provided with your booking are correct and we can contact you whilst you are in New Zealand If you have any questions, or require assistance during your check in, please contact us on +64 3 4701998 or inbox@thechamberson.co.nz CHECK IN TIME Normal check in time is 2pm. If you arrive at the hotel before 2pm we are happy to store your luggage at reception (located on level 1) until such time as normal check in commences We do also offer a guaranteed early check in from 12 noon, for an extra $35, this must be booked in advance (unfortunately we cannot guarantee an early check in for The Loft - Rooftop Penthouse but this maybe available if you contact the hotel the day before your arrival) CHECK OUT TIME Normal check out time is 10am. We ask that drop your room key cards at reception (located on level 1) when checking out We do also offer a guaranteed late check out upto 12:30pm, for an extra $40, this must be booked in advance (unfortunately we cannot guarantee a late check out for the Rooftop Penthouse but this maybe available if you contact the hotel the day before your departure) CAR PARKING We offer secure car parking in the basement of the hotel, for $25 per night We recommend you reserve your car parking space before your stay, as we have limited spaces available and these will be allocated on a first booked basis. You will also need to provide your car registration details (once you have these available) - any car parked in the hotel car park which has not pre-booked a car parking space will be clamped Please note the car park has a maximum height of 1.8 metres so if you're driving a large SUV and you have roof racks on your vehicle please check the height of your vehicle EXTRA PEOPLE CHARGES As per legislation (and fire safety requirements), we must be made aware of the number of guests occupying our rooms and apartments at all times. Additional guests beyond the number booked are charged at NZ$75 per night if notified prior to check-in. If found to have additional guests once checked in the penalty rate is NZ$125 per person per night. The hotel reserves the right to terminate a booking immediately should the number of occupants of the apartment exceed the number of guests booked. We allow 1 child under the age of 2 free of charge using existing bedding. In the case of the Rooftop Penthouse, the initial booking is for 2 guests. Any additional guests are charged at $150 per guest. The maximum number of guests that the Rooftop Penthouse can accommodate is 4 guests. The hotel reserves the right to terminate a booking immediately should the number of occupants of the Rooftop Penthouse exceed 4 guests. Unfortunately we do not allow children under the age of 15 to stay in the Rooftop Penthouse BOND Our policy is to hold credit card details for any breakages, damages or additional cleaning - all of which will be charged against this card. We will communicate with the guest after check out, if their room/apartment is deemed to have had any breakages, damages or require additional cleaning beyond what would be expected as a "normal stay" - and any charges to "make good" the breakages, damages or extra cleaning will be deducted from the credit card on file In the case of the Rooftop Penthouse, we require a bond of $500 for breakages, damages or additional cleaning. We will communicate with the guest after check out, if the Rooftop Penthouse is deemed to have had any breakages, damages or require additional cleaning beyond what would be expected as a "normal stay" - any charges to "make good" the breakages, damages or extra cleaning will be deducted from the bond (any other outstanding expenses will also be charged) In all other cases, no further charges will be made against the credit card; or in the case of the Rooftop Penthouse the bond will be immediately refunded after the room has been checked HENS, STAG PARTIES OR GROUP BOOKINGS ABSOLUTELY NO PARTIES are permitted at the hotel. Guests breaching this rule may have their booking terminated immediately without refund and may also be liable for additional cleaning charges. Please keep noise to a minimum and respect other guests at the hotel. We have zero noise policy. Loud music will not be tolerated at anytime (indoors or outdoors) Please be aware that all common areas of the property are monitored by CCTV 24/7 MINIMUM AGE FOR CHECK-IN The lead person for the booking who is checking into the hotel must be at least 25 years of age (ID may be requested by the hotel) CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY PLEASE NOTE THIS POLICY ONLY APPLIES TO BOOKINGS MADE DIRECTLY WITH THE CHAMBERSON. IF YOU ARE BOOKING WITH A 3RD PARTY PROVIDER (EG. BOOKING.COM, EXPEDIA ETC) THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS DO NOT APPLY. If a booking is made more than 5 days ahead of the check in date FLEXIBLE BOOKING The guest pays a 1 night deposit to secure their room booking. NON REFUNDABLE BOOKING The guest will be charged the total accommodation booking price at the time of booking. IF A BOOKING IS MADE LESS THAN 5 DAYS AHEAD OF THEIR CHECK IN DATE The guest will be charged the total accommodation booking price at the time of booking, as the booking is considered to be within the non-refundable period. If a guests booking is directly impacted by COVID (i.e. there is a lockdown which prevents them travelling to Dunedin) then there will be a full refund offered (if the original booking was flexible); or a credit note offered (if the original booking was non refundable). CANCELLATIONS/ CHANGES TO BOOKINGS, MADE BY THE CHAMBERSON: Whilst we endeavor to provide all facilities advertised, we will not be liable for compensation in the event we are forced to provide limited services, cancel or change your booking in any way. This would be as a result of situations outside our control which we could not foresee or avoid such as pandemics, civil strife, industrial disputes, natural disasters, war, terrorist activities, flood or fire.
